We’re looking forward to welcoming ticketholders to The 1st Central County Ground for Sussex Sharks’ Vitality Blast fixture against Middlesex on Friday night. The weather forecast is improving and we’re optimistic that the match will be completed.
If rain does make an unwelcome appearance, we have put together answers to some frequently asked questions below.
Until further notice, the match is going ahead as scheduled.
If the start of play is delayed or if play is interrupted, revised start or restart times will be communicated via the “twitter feed” tab on the Sussex Cricket Match Centre. The “twitter feed” tab can be found within the statistics section, below the live stream. Alternatively, follow @SussexCCC on Twitter. Any decision to delay the start of the match will be taken by the match officials, who will also decide if and when play can restart.
As per the tournament playing conditions, any decision to abandon a match rests solely with the match officials. Sussex Cricket have no control over this decision. The match officials will make every effort to have the match played, which may include reducing the number of overs per side.
Both teams must bowl a minimum of five overs, unless a result has already been achieved.
The latest a five-over-per-side match could begin is 9.27pm.
In line with Sussex Cricket’s Ticket Refund Policy, if play is restricted or does not take place, ticketholders will receive a full refund of the value of their match ticket subject to there being 9.5 overs or less bowled AND no result being obtained. In no other circumstances will a refund be processed.
In line with Sussex Cricket’s Ticket Refund Policy, Blast Pass and Members are not entitled to refunds for abandoned or shortened matches.
In the event of the match being abandoned or shortened, no refunds will be made and patrons are still welcome to use the facilities. Their food and beverages will be served as normal.
If you purchased your ticket with a debit or credit card, you will automatically receive a refund to the same card within 10 working days. If you paid for your ticket with cash or any other form of payment, you will receive your refund in the form of a cheque. This will be sent to the address provided at the time of purchase within 30 working days.
Unfortunately not. To ensure everyone receives their refund as soon as possible, no ticket exchanges are available. However, we will aim to process refunds as fast as we can so that spectators can buy tickets for our remaining home Vitality Blast group fixtures against Essex Eagles on Thursday 22nd August and Gloucestershire on Friday 30th August.
