Sussex Cricket supporting World Mental Health Day

10 Oct 2020

Today (Saturday 10 October) marks World Mental Health Day, and Sussex Cricket is proud to be supporting Sussex Partnership's #Ten4Ten campaign.

In collaboration with 'Without Stigma', the Sussex Partnership has outlined ten points to help you look after your mental health. They have also launched a wellbeing rap, written and performed by Kuda-Kwashé and available to watch below.

Ten ways to look after your mental health

  • Remember it is normal to feel sad, stressed, confused, scared or angry during a crisis
  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle as far as you can, including diet, sleep and exercise
  • Don't smoke, drink or use drugs to deal with your emotions
  • Limit worry by watching or listening to media coverage less
  • Keep connected to people by phone, email and social media
  • Be kind to others and yourself
  • Seek advice you can trust from the NHS and the Government
  • Get the facts to help you determine the risk and protect yourself
  • Use skills you already have, and have used in the past to deal with stress
  • Structure your day with things that you can realistically achieve

Sussex Cricket value the importance of good Mental Health and Wellbeing, alongside being able to support our staff and community who may be experiencing difficulties.

With this in mind, Sussex Cricket and the Sussex Cricket Foundation are currently working with Frog to develop a Mental Health and Wellbeing platform which will help support and signpost those within our community struggling with their Mental Health and Wellbeing.

More details on the platform, and how you can make best use of it, will be released in due course.
