The Sussex Cricket Museum has published its latest booklet on the history of the club.
‘Revolution ‘97’ details the events surrounding the 19th March 1997, when the Members of Sussex County Cricket Club ousted the Committee at the AGM .
The publication covers the period leading up to the AGM and interviews those who played a major role in ousting the Committee.
The momentous evening itself is described in full, followed by an overview of the events that took place afterwards, as the seeds were sown for a county side that went on to win nine trophies during the ‘golden decade’ of the 2000s.
The booklet offers new information and perspective on the previously accepted narrative of events; offers both controversy and unique insight; as well as photographs that, until now, have never seen the light of day.
This 40-page publication, which includes 14 colour photos, is limited to just 150 copies. Each one is signed by former Sussex CCC players, Chris Adams and Tony Pigott.
All monies from the £15 purchase price goes to the Club Museum and its Educational Trust.
