Details of Sussex’s fixtures in this summer’s Vitality Women’s County T20 have been confirmed.
Coach Alexia Walker’s side will begin their campaign with a trip west on the May Day Bank Holiday to play matches against hosts Hampshire and Somerset. The precise venue is yet to be confirmed, but will be added to the fixture page on the Sussex Cricket website in due course.
The side will then welcome neighbours Kent and Surrey to the Sir Rod Aldridge Cricket Centre at Brighton Aldridge Community Academy for May’s second bank holiday on Monday 25th May.
Wales and Durham are Sussex’s opponents at Spytty Park, Newport on Sunday 7th June, before the team’s campaign concludes with a visit to Widnes CC to take on hosts Lancashire and then Warwickshire on Sunday 21st June.
Sussex – led by captain Georgia Adams – play in division one of the competition, the winners of which will become the de facto women’s County Champions
Following a restructure of the women’s game over the winter, the Vitality Women’s County T20 is now the only official county competition.
Fifty-over cricket will be played by eight new regional teams in late-August and early-September following the inaugural edition of The Hundred that takes place in July and August.
