It’s been a busy winter out in Australia for young Sussex all-rounder, Delray Rawlins, and there’s more to come with the 20-year-old Sussex Academy graduate included in ECB’s pre-season North-South series and the MCC side for the Champion County Match.
Just before the news of his selection for that season curtain-raiser in Barbados, we caught up with Delray from his base in Sydney.
Delray told us about the work he has been putting in to develop his bowling, including working with Stuart MacGill, the New South Wales squad and the England Lions.
He recalls the experience of putting in a 'man of the match' performance at the famous SCG and reveals what it has been like to play in Australian grade cricket, including against a few of his Sussex teammates.
There's also a look ahead to the forthcoming season, with Delray setting out his desire to show new Head Coach, Jason Gillespie, the skills he has developed over the winter months.
