Danny Briggs becomes leading wicket-taker in the history of domestic T20

4 Aug 2019

Danny Briggs has become the leading wicket-taker in the history of domestic T20 cricket in England.

His wicket against Gloucestershire on Sunday afternoon took him clear of another former Shark, Yasir Arafat, with whom he was tied on 156 wickets prior to the match.

The left-arm spinner’s 157 wickets have come from 132 matches since his debut in 2010. On average, Danny has taken a wicket every 17.1 deliveries.

One-hundred-and-fourteen of Danny’s wickets came while he was playing for Hampshire, with 43 taken since joining Sussex in 2016.

Kent’s Darren Stevens and Somerset’s James Hildreth have been dismissed four times each by the 28-year-old, making them his most regular victims.
