Chris Jordan stars as England beat Australia

28 Jun 2018

Chris Jordan starred for England on Wednesday night as Australia were condemned to a winless tour at Edgbaston.

The Sussex man took 3-42, and a stunning catch on the boundary to dismiss the dangerous Aaron Finch, while Jos Buttler smashed the fastest half-century in England's T20I history.

It was another resounding victory for England over the Aussies, following their whitewash win in the ODI series, with the likes of Jordan and Adil Rashid in brilliant form with the ball.

After Buttler thumped his way to 50 off just 22 balls, the hosts posted 221-6 from their 20 overs and it looked like another impossible chase for Australia, especially as they lost five wickets in the opening 10 overs of their innings.

Finch threatened a stunning comeback, adding 86 in seven overs for the seventh wicket with Ashton Agar, but Adil Rashid had the Surrey man caught at long-on thanks to Jordan's excellent fielding.

The Sharks star then took centre stage, producing a well-disguised slower ball to defeat Glenn Maxwell, before his yorker ended Agar's resistance and Kane Richardson was caught at mid-on off his next ball.

Jordan was denied a hat-trick, but his final over went for just four runs and helped England beat their bitter rivals for the sixth time this summer.
