Sussex’s County Championship fixture against Worcestershire next month has been moved from Blackfinch New Road to Kidderminster CC.
The match, beginning on Saturday 25th April, has been relocated due to flooding at Worcestershire’s headquarters.
In a statement on the club website, Worcestershire said: “We moved to Kidderminster Cricket Club (“KCC”) at short notice and played two County Championship games against Sussex and Derbyshire last year. Both away teams were complimentary of how KCC coped and we at WCCC were also very appreciative.
“We recognise that there is scope to improve our offerings to members and supporters when we are forced to move, and the club has been working closely with KCC, especially in terms of seating, transportation and marquee access. KCC have been excellent partners and we are delighted to have extended and deepened our relationship with them for 2020 and 2021.”
The two sides played out a draw at Kidderminster in the corresponding fixture last June. Ollie Robinson took five wickets in Worcestershire’s first innings, before a Laurie Evans century and 90 for Aaron Thomason on debut in Sussex’s second innings made the game safe for the visitors.
