Archer and Jordan reach Wicket World Cup final

6 May 2020

Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan will battle it out to be crowned winner of our inaugural Wicket World Cup on Thursday after Jordan joined Archer in the final last night.

Archer secured his spot in the last round on Monday, beating Ollie Robinson's 8-34 against Middlesex with 52% of the voting.

Meanwhile, Jordan faced George Garton, and his perfect yorker against Durham beat Garton's dismissal of Stephen Eskinazi with 64% of the vote.

In total, 16 wickets were chosen at the start of the competition by our head coach, Jason Gillespie in order to find the best taken since he arrived at the club.

Since then, the wickets have been viewed over 21,000 times and received more than 1,800 votes.

Our quest to find the best wicket taken during ‘The Dizzy Years’ will culminate on Thursday when great friends, Archer and Jordan take each other on from 10am on Twitter

Sussex Cricket Foundation also want to see you recreating these incredible wickets! You can be playing on your own in the garden, or have a full slip cordon of family members set up in your living room - it doesn't matter.

Send your recreation videos to @SussexCricketFd with #WicketWorldCup and they will retweet the best!
